Bud Gott's Amazing Blog-O-Rama!

My weekend was pretty good, thanks for asking. I had a rare weekend off from work and I enjoyed it a lot. On Saturday I helped my brother Ed and his family move into their new house, which is a really great house. Afterwards, Maria and I went to Battery Park in New Castle for the last few moments of Art On The Green, which is a very popular big annual arts and crafts event. (Note to Stacy: I didn't get your email until too late...sorry we weren't able to meet you there!)

After that, we grabbed some burgers at Jake's Hamburgers. If you live in this area and have never had a Jake's burger, then you really don't know what you're missing out on. They're awesome!

At night we watched a couple of episodes of THE OFFICE, which has become one of my favorite shows currently on the air. We also watched the movies TWO WEEKS NOTICE and WAITING FOR GUFFMAN. The former has some good moments in it, but I wouldnt say it's a great movie. As for GUFFMAN, it's very quirky and very funny.

Yesterday my Eagles kicked the 49er's butts. Damned good game!!!

So, yesterday at work I was walking around and on our music system was a song called "Lemonade." I'd never heard it before but I liked it a lot. I did a Google search using some of the lyrics and discovered the song was by Chris Rice.

Today I heard another song by Rice on the radio. This song (I'm drawing a blank on the title) was also very good.

I looked on Amazon.com and saw that Chris Rice has several cds out. Has he just recently gotten popular or have I just totally been missing the Rice boat???

It's great when someone comes into your life and you have an instant strong connection with them that you know is going to last for the rest of your life. It's a rare thing, which makes it all that more special when it happens.

A few years ago I was lucky in that Stacia came into my life. We quickly became very good friends. She's a great lady and I'm proud to say that she's one of my closest friends.

Anyway, today is her birthday and I wish her a fantastic one.

I just read that 10 murdered stingrays were found in Australia last week. Apparently, some people are trying to avenge Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's death by killing stingrays.

Is this ridiculous or what? I wasn't a big fan of Irwin's but I know enough about him to know he wouldn't want these creatures killed as an act of revenge for his death.

Also, these people who are killing the stingrays...just how stupid are they??? Don't they know that Irwin's death by a stingray was a bizarre fluke? Stingrays hardly ever attack people and Irwin's death by one is one of the few recorded incidents of a person actually being killed by a stingray.

Idiots!

...that THE MONKEES tv series premiered. 40 years - wow!

If you know me well at all, you know I love The Monkees. The tv show (which, just to be clear, I didn't see until the mid 70's) is one of my favorite shows ever. Also, I'm a big fan of The Monkees' music.

I've got the whole tv series on video and I own all of their albums on cd. I've also seen them in concert several times. Yeah, it's official - I'm a huge fan (and admittedly somewhat of a geek.)

So, to Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Peter Tork, and Michael Nesmith...Happy 40th Anniversary, lads!

Yeah, yeah, I know - I've sucked lately with updating this page. To those of you who've been visiting and looking for new stuff, I'm sorry you haven't seen much here lately. The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy for me.

Also, I'm finding that I've been slightly addicted to MySpace lately. Not that I update my site there too much more than this site, but MySpace is a lot of fun. It's a great way to keep in touch with old friends, make new friends, etc.

If you haven't got a MySpace page, maybe you should look into getting one. Like I said, it's fun.
