Buddy Van Winkle

Oh man, I can't believe how much I slept last night. I got home from work and slept for an hour or so and then woke up to have dinner. I laid back down around 7 p.m. and slept right on through the night. I finally woke up around 7:30 this morning. Needless to say, I'm feeling pretty awake right now!

So, we're officially into the Summer. I'm psyched. I hope to go to the beach several times this year. I may even go this Saturday (depending on the weather.)

I Don't Want To Grow Up I'm An 80s-R-Us Kid

I've been totally jamming to 80s music the past few days. I've got a mix-cd that I've been playing over and over while driving. It contains tracks like "Freeze Frame," "Sunglasses At Night," "Electric Blue,"and "Theme From St. Elmo's Fire."

I've especially been into the St. Elmo's Fire song. That was a pretty cool movie. I haven't seen it in years but I still want to be Rob Lowe and I still want to sleep with Demi Moore.

Anyway...got sidetracked there...but my point is that I love (and will continue to love) my 80s music! Today's music is fine but nothing will top the 80s for me.

The Graduate 2005

Today I went to a high school graduation party for my ex-girlfriend Natalie's son Quentin. It was a lot of fun. I congratulate Quentin and wish him the best of luck in the future. He's got a lot going for him. I know he'll make out great.

Graduating from high school is really a big deal - and something you always remember. I have VERY clear memories of my own graduation day and I'm sure they'll stick with me forever.

My friend Dave wrote a very good article about graduating from high school and put it up on his own blog page today. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I bet you will also. Check it out at Dave's Daily Digest.

Where have you gone, Joe Piscopo? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you (woo woo woo)

I just read in the newspaper that Joe Piscopo turns 54 today. Wow! I don't know which is more surprising...that Joe is 54 or that I actually saw his name in the newpaper for a change.

Seriously, whatever happened to Joe? He was pretty damned funny during his years on Saturday Night Live. He was also pretty good in the movie JOHNNY DANGEROUSLY (a seriously underrated funny movie!)

The last thing I really remember seeing him in was a Julian Lennon video almost 20 years ago. Okay, I know he's done some stuff since then but I've been listening to some Julian Lennon music this week. Also, my brother Ed mentioned the video the other day. It was for the song "Stick Around." Michael J. Fox was also in it. Good video and song!

This leads me to ask - whatever happened to Julian Lennon? He showed a lot of promise back in the 1980s. I still love his VALOTTE album.

A trivia question for the day

What is David Bowie's real name and why did he change it?

The first person to answer correctly receives as his or her prize the dubious distinction of being the first person to answer the question correctly!

yet another test

no need to comment on this...it'll probably be deleted before you see it....but if so, does that mean i'm just talking to myself? oh well, not the 1st time...

testing...1,2,3

blah blah blah....just a test...more blahs, etc.

As Kenny Loggins once said...

...this is it! Ignore what it says in the postings below from February. THIS is my new blogging place.

Unlike the old place, there's no guestbook here. In it's place is a "comments" section for each of my postings. I think that'll be even better than the old guestbook. Visitors can write lengthier comments than they were able to in the past, so I think it'll be a good thing.

Feelin' Hot Hot Hot!

No, I'm not jamming to that annoying Buster Poindexter song right now. (Relieved?) I'm just commenting on the ridiculous heat and humidity that's been going on the past few days. I mean, come on, it's not even Summer yet!

How about that Michael Jackson verdict the other day? I'm really not all that surprised by it.

I heard some people on tv talking about ways that Jacko could start rebuilding his image and career. My advice to him would be for him to start acting like a normal person and not some freakshow from another planet.

Forever Young?

A really cute 21 year old female told me tonight that she'd never guess that I was as old as my actual age. I seem to get that a lot (which is definitely a good thing!)

I've heard that it's not just because of my physical appearance but also because of my personality. I guess that means I'm either very immature for my age or just very cool for my age.

I'm going to go with the latter option there.
